HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The rain could not slow Carroll's men's tennis team down Sunday, as the Pioneers defeated LeTourneau University 5-1 in the first match of their 2025 Spring Break trip.

In doubles play, the Pioneers clinched the point with a win at the number one and two flights. At the top position, Adrian Gomez and Daniel Ezcurra teamed up to win 6-4. At two, there was a tight match, but the Pioneers remained triumphant, winning 7-6 (8-6) despite starting down 1-4.

In singles play, Carroll kept rolling, winning four out of the five matches completed. At four singles, Jack McCaffrey dominated with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. Andrew Labelle continued the winning ways with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 victory at three singles in a thrilling match. Gomez also claimed victory, 6-4, 6-4 at the number one singles spot.

Carroll's match against Getteysburg on Monday has been canceled. The Pioneers will be back in action Tuesday against Salve Regina at 10 a.m. EDT from Van Der Meer Tennis Center in Hilton Head, S.C.
