FINAL RESULTS
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Carroll Track & Field competed in the 2025 CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend, with Elmhurst University claiming the women's title and host North Central College garnering their seventh consecutive outdoor championship. The Carroll women placed seventh overall while the men took eighth place in the two-day event. The Pioneers posted 12 All-Conference performances with 40 personal-bests occurring on the weekend.
Jimmy Hinkley started the meet by winning the Hammer Throw with a distance of 186-02, his third consecutive title in the event. It was that performance that set the tone for the rest of the meet. Among the other numerous field highlights was
Maria Falk, who captured her first outdoor shot put title with a season-best throw of 47-07, improving her national qualifying mark to third nationally.
Vanessa Uitenbroek continued to be a household name in the field events, taking the podium with a second place finish in the shot put and discus, and third place finish in the Hammer. Brady Ruesser also earned all-conference honors in multiple events, placing second in discus and eighth in shot put.
Other field event all-conference winners included
Grace Tinder, who placed sixth in Pole Vault, and
Ben Breitbach, who took seventh place in the decathlon.
The track events saw a school record fall on consecutive days, as
Nathan Raatz broke the 400m dash record in Friday's preliminaries with a time of 48.99 seconds, .03 seconds faster than the 25 year old record set by T.J. Mentink. That record stood for less than 24 hours, as Raatz crushed his own record in the finals with a time of 48.87 seconds and claimed third in the event. Raatz was also the anchor leg of the Men's 4X400m relay that took fourth place and was comprised of
Sawyer Caves,
Nicholas Kerkhoff,
Patrick Signore, and Raatz.
Rebekah Buboltz rounded out the all-conference performers with an eighth place finish in the 800m Dash.
A few select athletes will compete in the North Central "Last Chance" Meet on May 7 and 8 looking to improve on their season scores and qualify for the 2025 Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
