Reed Breckheimer Named To East-West Shrine Bowl 1000

On the verge of the 2025 season, Carroll University Senior Tight End Reed Breckheimer has been named to the watch list for the national East-West Shrine Bowl, also known as the Shrine Bowl 1000. Breckheimer is just one of five NCAA Division-III players to earn a spot among the 1,000 players selected from all divisions, and is the only player from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) to earn the recognition.

Each year, approximately 1,000 all-star game eligible players are drafted into the National Football League, signed after the draft, or attend a rookie mini-camp. The aim of the Shrine Bowl 1000 is to serve as a look into the scouting process, as well as begin to preview college players who are currently all-star game eligible for the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl and 2026 NFL Draft class. The list was put together by consulting with NFL and college personnel to ensure the selection of the best 1,000 players for the NFL level.

"We are proud of Reed and his accomplishments thus far. His selection for the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 list vindicates his hard work and dedication to the Pioneers' football program," Carroll Head Football Coach Mike Budziszewski said. "It's truly an accomplishment to be one of just five Division-III players on this list."

A native of Hilbert, Wis., Breckheimer is coming off a season that saw him lead the Pioneers in receptions (36), receiving yards (476), and receiving touchdowns (3), en route to First Team All-Region honors. A three-time All-Conference performer, Breckheimer is a jack-of-all trades, as he was also third on the team last season in rushing yards (176), while leading the Pios in rushing touchdowns (5). He also completed his only pass attempt for an 18-yard gain.

The East-West Shrine Bowl is a best-in-class all-star event that will take place at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco,Texas on Jan. 27, 2026. Both teams will be coached by NFL coaches, in an NFL facility, and will have access to NFL-level resources, facilities, player-friendly schedules, and opportunities at the highest level.
