MEQUON, Wis. - Carroll University's men's cross country team delivered a competitive showing at the Ken Weidt Classic on September 13, hosted by Concordia University Wisconsin. Racing on the CUW Cross Country Course, the Pioneers placed 5th out of 7 teams with a total time of 2:23:24.4 and an average 8K pace of 28:40.9.
Senior Ethan Weber led the way for Carroll, finishing 10th overall with a time of 27:24.0, pacing the team with a strong sub-5:30 mile average. Freshman Sam Daley followed with a time of 28:42.9, while junior Bailey Olson crossed the line in 28:53.5. Rounding out the scoring five were freshmen Luke Adams (29:11.8) and sophomore Julian Bica Harrison (29:12.2), both finishing within seconds of each other to help secure the team's top-five placement.
Additional contributions came from Donovan Menningen (30:41.2) and Rogan Leistiko (32:30.3), who added depth to Carroll's lineup.
Lawrence University claimed the team title with a dominant average time of 26:59.0, placing all five scoring runners in the top 10. Despite the fast field, Carroll held their own and showed promising development, especially among their younger runners.
Their next competition takes place next Saturday as they head to Warrenville, Ill. as they race in the Gil Dodds Classic.
