WAUKESHA, Wis. — Carroll University women's lacrosse opened its home slate in dominant fashion Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 16–2 victory over Marian at Schneider Stadium. The Pioneers scored the game's first 13 goals and controlled play from start to finish to improve to 1–0 on the season.
Carroll wasted little time setting the tone, netting seven goals in the opening quarter while limiting Marian to just one shot. The Pioneers continued to apply pressure in the second period, adding six more goals to take a commanding 13–0 lead into halftime. Carroll finished the day with a 29–5 advantage in shots and won 12 draw controls, consistently keeping possession and dictating tempo.
Offensively, Carroll showcased balance across the lineup. Lauren Fricke led the Pioneers with three goals, while Paige Helms and Rebecca Hallman each added two goals. Sierra Skack recorded a team-high six points with one goal and five assists, and Elizabeth Wang chipped in five points on two goals and three assists. Carroll also converted twice on free-position opportunities and capitalized on Marian penalties with two man-up goals.
The Pioneers added two more goals in the third quarter to extend the margin to 15–0 before Marian found the back of the net twice early in the fourth. Carroll answered late with a goal from Samantha Hurd to close out the scoring.
Defensively, Carroll limited Marian to five shots and forced 29 turnovers. Goalkeeper Devon Duym earned the win in net, allowing two goals over 60 minutes.
Carroll will look to carry the momentum into its next non-conference contest later this week as they travel to Aurora on Saturday to play at noon.
