Carroll Women’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Aurora, 14–4, to Stay Unbeaten

MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The Carroll University women's lacrosse team continued its strong start to the 2026 season with a dominant 14–4 road victory over Aurora on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Athletic Park.

Carroll set the tone early, scoring twice in the opening five minutes and controlling possession throughout the first half. The Pioneers built a 3–0 advantage by halftime and never looked back, erupting for six goals in the third quarter to put the game firmly out of reach.

Elizabeth Wang led Carroll's balanced offensive attack with four goals and two assists, while Lauren Fricke added three goals and three assists. Sierra Skack chipped in three goals and two assists, and Elaina Phaneuf finished with two goals, including a key score early in the third quarter that helped spark Carroll's decisive run. Paige Helms and Samantha Hurd also found the back of the net as nine different Pioneers registered at least one point.

Carroll controlled the middle of the field, winning 16 draw controls and holding a 40–32 edge in ground balls. Grace Tumilty and Samantha Hurd were especially active in transition, combining for 10 ground balls and helping Carroll maintain steady offensive pressure. The Pioneers also outshot Aurora 34–12, including a 22–9 advantage in shots on goal.

Defensively, Carroll limited Aurora to just four goals and forced consistent turnovers. Goalkeeper Devon Duym earned the win, stopping five shots in a complete-game performance.

With the victory, Carroll improved to 3–0 on the season and will look to carry its momentum into its next nonconference matchup, which will come on their spring break trip against Albright College on March 8th.
