Carroll Earns Multiple All-Conference Honors at CCIW Indoor Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Carroll University track and field wrapped up the 2026 CCIW Indoor Championships over two days of competition at Illinois Wesleyan, earning multiple All-Conference performances and solid team finishes on both the men's and women's sides.

The Pioneers finished eighth on the women's side with 32 points and fifth on the men's side with 48 points, highlighted by event victories, podium finishes, and All-Conference efforts across the track, field, and relay events. All-Conference honors were awarded to the top eight finishers in individual events and the top four relay teams.

Women's Highlights

Carroll's women delivered All-Conference performances across several disciplines, capped by a strong showing in the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet of Tirzah Losos, Cadence Carlson, Rianna Schultz, and Hana Smith placed fourth overall in 4:03.89, earning All-Conference recognition to close the meet.

Individually, Carlson earned All-Conference honors in the 400-meter dash, finishing seventh with a time of 59.74, while Losos placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.58.

In the field events, Carroll saw multiple podium finishes. Jenna Weis finished second in the pole vault, clearing 3.60 meters, while Margaret Carter earned All-Conference recognition in the long jump, placing seventh at 5.32 meters. Clare Whitney also contributed an All-Conference performance, finishing sixth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.54 meters.

In the distance events, Hana Smith earned All-Conference honors with a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:22.42.

As a team, the Carroll women placed eighth overall in the conference standings, with contributions coming across sprints, hurdles, relays, and field events throughout the two-day championship.

Men's Highlights

The Carroll men finished fifth overall, highlighted by standout performances in the jumps and throws.

Carlos Cadet delivered one of the top performances of the meet, capturing conference titles in both the long jump and triple jump. Cadet won the long jump with a mark of 6.96 meters before following with a championship-winning 14.51 meters in the triple jump, earning First Team All-Conference honors in both events.

In the throws, Brady Reusser earned All-Conference recognition in two events. Reusser placed third in the shot put with a throw of 15.43 meters and added a sixth-place finish in the weight throw at 15.97 meters.

Brian Smith earned All-CCIW honors for the Pioneers after a standout weekend in the sprints, finishing third in the 400 meters (49.05) at the CCIW Indoor Championships. Smith also added a fifth-place finish in the 200 meters (22.39), contributing key points for Carroll in the conference meet.

Carroll also picked up All-Conference honors in the 4x400-meter relay, placing fourth overall in 3:25.96, adding valuable points to the team total.

With consistent scoring across multiple event groups, the Carroll men finished fifth in the final team standings, ahead of Millikin, Wheaton, Elmhurst, and North Park.
