WAUKESHA, Wis. — Carroll Men's Basketball put together one of its most complete offensive performances of the season in a 94–84 win over Augustana on Wednesday night at Van Male Fieldhouse. The Pioneers shot 55.4% from the field and knocked down 11 threes, never trailing in the contest and building a lead as large as 20 points.
Peyton McKenna led the offensive explosion with 30 points, including eight made threes, pacing a Carroll attack that clicked from the opening tip. Michael McNabb added 21 points, five rebounds, and seven trips to the free-throw line, while Lamar Smith delivered an efficient 12 points and six rebounds in just 18 minutes. Evan Bland chipped in 11 points, and Dennis Estepp and Jimmy Tarjan provided strong supporting minutes off the bench.
Carroll burst out to a 28–9 lead early in the first half, generating stops and scoring in transition on the way to a 42–35 halftime advantage. The Pioneers pushed the margin back to double digits quickly in the second half, using an 8–0 run to seize full control and keep Augustana at arm's length the rest of the way. Carroll finished with 25 fast-break points and outscored the Vikings 40–34 in the paint, showcasing a balanced inside-out attack.
Augustana made several pushes, particularly through Marieon Anderson (20 points) and Caden Workman (13 points), but the Vikings could not slow Carroll's offensive rhythm. The Pioneers responded to each surge with timely scoring — often from McKenna or McNabb — and pressure defense that produced 13 points off turnovers.
Carroll also excelled at the free-throw line, going 21-for-29, and dominated the efficiency battle with a 65% effective field-goal mark, compared to Augustana's 58%.
With the win, the Pioneers improve to 10–11 overall and 5–7 in the CCIW, keeping their postseason aspirations alive as they continue building momentum into the final stretch of the conference slate. They host North Central this Wednesday with tip set for 7pm.
