CANTON, NY - The Carroll women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday, defeating Canton 19–8 on the road to remain unbeaten on the season.
Carroll set the tone early, scoring seven goals in the opening quarter and never looking back. The Pioneers continued to control play throughout the contest, outscoring Canton in each of the first three periods while maintaining a steady pace offensively.
Elizabeth Wang led the attack with a standout performance, finishing with six goals and two assists to pace Carroll's balanced scoring effort. Paige Helms added four goals, while Sierra Skack contributed three goals and two assists. Lauren Fricke also had a strong all-around showing, recording two goals and two assists, and Samantha Hurd chipped in two goals.
Carroll's offense was efficient throughout the lineup, as the Pioneers totaled 19 goals from seven different scorers and converted multiple man-up opportunities. Carroll also held the advantage in draw controls, helping maintain possession and keep pressure on Canton's defense.
Defensively, Hannah McKenna anchored the back line with a solid outing in goal, making 12 saves while limiting Canton's chances across four quarters. Carroll's defense remained composed despite Canton's attempts to rally in the second half, consistently forcing stops and clearing the ball effectively.
With the victory, Carroll improved to 5–0 on the season and will look to carry its momentum forward as they travel back to Wisconsin to take on UW-La Crosse on Saturday at 1pm.
