Carroll Women’s Lacrosse Stays Unbeaten with Road Win at UW-La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Carroll women's lacrosse team remained unbeaten on the season with a 12–8 road victory over UW-La Crosse on Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Carroll set the tone early, jumping out to a 5–1 lead in the opening quarter behind a fast-paced offensive attack. Paige Helms and Elizabeth Wang combined for multiple early goals as the Pioneers controlled possession and limited UW-La Crosse's opportunities in transition.

The Eagles closed the gap in the second quarter, but Carroll responded with timely scoring to carry an 8–6 lead into halftime. Helms continued to pace the offense, while Elaina Phaneuf and Samantha Hurd added key goals to keep momentum on the Carroll side.

Carroll delivered its strongest stretch in the third quarter, scoring four unanswered goals to seize control of the contest. Helms recorded a pair of goals during the run, including a man-up tally, while Lauren Fricke and Sierra Skack added goals on extra-man opportunities to push the lead to five.

UW-La Crosse found the net once in the fourth quarter, but Carroll's defense stood firm down the stretch. Devon Duym anchored the effort in goal, finishing with 10 saves, as the Pioneers closed out the victory.

Helms led all players with four goals and one assist, while Wang added three goals and two assists. Phaneuf finished with two goals, and Carroll received scoring contributions from six different players as part of a balanced offensive effort.

With the win, Carroll improved to 6–0 on the season and continued its strong start to non-conference play, with their next matchup coming Tuesday as they host Lake Forest at 7pm.
