PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Carroll baseball team dropped a 9–4 decision to Nebraska Wesleyan on Wednesday at Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, Florida.
Nebraska Wesleyan struck first with a run in the opening inning and extended its lead with a four-run fourth to create separation. Carroll answered in the third inning when Dalen Lamberson delivered an RBI double to right-center, scoring Brody Ferko to tie the game at 1–1.
After Nebraska Wesleyan regained momentum with additional runs in the middle innings, Carroll continued to battle offensively. Eddie Synek drove in a run in the fourth with a single to left field, while Evan Becker added an RBI single in the eighth as part of a late Pioneer push.
Carroll plated two runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by Becker's RBI and aggressive baserunning that allowed another run to score on a passed ball. Ferko reached base twice and scored two runs, while Nathan Crick, Jimmy Williams, and Gabriel Lee each recorded hits for the Pioneers.
On the mound, Tyler Fredrick worked six innings in the start, while Carroll's bullpen combined to hold Nebraska Wesleyan scoreless over the final two frames.
Despite the loss, Carroll showed resilience throughout the contest, continuing to apply pressure late and competing through all nine innings. The Pioneers will once against take on Nebraska Wesleyan in Pensacola on Satuday, as the Pioneers will look to bounce back.
