WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University women's basketball was well represented on the postseason stage, as Natalie Gricius and Emilie Wizner earned All-Region honors following outstanding seasons with the Pioneers.
Gricius was named Region 8's Most Outstanding Player, highlighting a historic senior season that capped an exceptional career in a Carroll uniform. The Oconomowoc native also earned First Team All-Region recognition after setting the single-season scoring record for the Pioneers, cementing her place among the program's all-time greats.
Wizner was recognized on the All-Region Third Team, adding another accolade to a strong senior campaign. The Germantown native played a key role in Carroll's success throughout the season, providing consistent production and leadership on both ends of the floor, along with her breaking the single-season and career three point shots made marks.
The All-Region teams were selected based on nominations submitted by Sports Information Directors from schools throughout the region.
Gricius headlined a First Team that included Ava Bardic (Illinois Wesleyan), Kristin Bukata (Elmhurst), Taylor Thiry (St. Norbert), and Lexy Harris (Washington University). Wizner joined the Third Team alongside Jordan Coon (Franklin), Sierra Kemelgor (Transylvania), Mia Bowen (MUW), and Annabelle Spotts (Chicago).
The regional awards further underscore the impact of Carroll women's basketball this season, with both student-athletes earning recognition among the top players in the region.
