Box Score NEENAH, Wis. — Carroll women's tennis dropped a 7–0 decision to UW–Stevens Point on Sunday, with several tightly contested matches throughout the lineup despite the final score.
UW–Stevens Point claimed the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches. Carroll's closest doubles contest came at No. 1, where Natasa Pupovac and Katherine Trifilio battled before falling 6–1, while Nawal Souki and Aalaiya Jacklin competed at No. 2, and Gracie Niebler teamed with Mia Franke at No. 3.
Singles play featured multiple close battles for the Pioneers. At No. 1 singles, Pupovac pushed the match to a third-set tiebreak before coming up just short against Tristin Jantz, 6–2, 1–6, [7–10]. Trifilio also played a competitive match at No. 2 singles, forcing a second-set tiebreak in a 2–6, 6–7(7) loss to Annika Wierzbicki.
Mia Franke fought through two close sets at No. 3 singles, falling 3–6, 4–6, while Souki competed at No. 4 in a 3–6, 2–6 decision. Makayla Counsell and Erin Horzewski rounded out the lineup at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, as Carroll continued to gain valuable match experience against a strong Stevens Point squad.
Carroll will look to build on the competitive moments from Sunday's matches as the Pioneers continue their spring schedule against Illinois Tech on April 7th.
