Carroll Women Win Home Meet as Track & Field Returns to Action

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Carroll track & field returned to outdoor competition on Saturday with a strong showing at its first home meet in two years, highlighted by a team victory from the women and a runner-up finish by the men following the conclusion of the indoor conference and national championships.

The Carroll women captured the team title with 148 points, posting a series of event wins across the track and field. The Pioneers opened the meet with a victory in the 4x100 relay as the quartet of Margaret Carter, Cadence Carlson, Addison Weber, and Aimee Koranteng took first place. Carlson followed with a win in the 100 meters, while Hana Smith claimed the 800-meter title.

Tirzah Losos added another victory for Carroll in the 400-meter hurdles, and Koranteng continued her standout day by winning the 200 meters. The Pioneers closed the meet with another relay win as Kyla Laabs, Brooke Davies, Lucy Beuthin, and Mei-Lin Sicinski took first in the 4x400.

Carroll also found success in the field events, where Jenna Weis captured the pole vault title, Margaret Carter earned a win in the long jump, and Katelyn Duber claimed first place in the triple jump to help secure the team championship.

On the men's side, Carroll finished second overall with 282 points, turning in a deep, well-balanced performance. Denim Riley led the way on the track with a victory in the 100 meters, while Ethan Zilisch took first in the long jump. Brady Reusser added another event win for the Pioneers with a top finish in the shot put.

Saturday's meet marked a significant milestone for the program, as Carroll competed at home for the first time in two years. With multiple event wins, a women's team title, and a strong men's runner-up finish, the Pioneers made a successful return to outdoor competition and will look to build momentum as the season continues.
