HILTON HEAD, SC - The Carroll men's and women's tennis teams opened spring trip play Sunday against LeTourneau in Hilton Head, South Carolina, with both matches counting as official results based on completed courts due to rain. 

On the women's side, Katherine Trifilio accounted for Carroll's lone team point with a victory at No. 2 singles. Trifilio battled back after dropping the opening set, responding with a strong second set before closing out the match in a third-set tiebreak to earn the win. Several additional singles matches were left unfinished, including competitive starts from Makayla Counsell and Gracie Niebler, as the Pioneers continued to fight across the lineup.

The Carroll men's team also showed flashes of strong play throughout the match. At No. 2 singles, Andrew LaBelle pushed his contest into a tight second-set tiebreak, while multiple singles courts remained in progress with competitive scorelines when play concluded. The Pioneers gained valuable experience in doubles and singles against a strong LeTourneau squad as they continue spring break competition.

Both teams used the opening matches of the trip to build rhythm and depth across their lineups. Carroll will look to carry the positives from Sunday's action into the remainder of their spring break trip, with their next matchup coming against Hardin-Simmons.
