Carroll Men’s Lacrosse Pulls Away to Defeat Augustana on Senior Day

WAUKESHA, Wis. — The Carroll University men's lacrosse team closed out a strong Senior Day performance with a 16–4 victory over Augustana on Friday afternoon at Waukesha.

After Augustana opened the scoring, Carroll responded with a surge late in the first quarter and carried momentum through the remainder of the contest. The Pioneers outscored Augustana 9–0 over a stretch spanning the final minutes of the first quarter through the second quarter, building a commanding halftime advantage.

Carroll's offense was led by Brady Mollsen, who finished with four goals and two assists, while Anthony Defilippis added five goals in the win. Brady Conwell contributed two goals and two assists, and Ethan Phillips totaled one goal and two assists as the Pioneers showcased balanced scoring throughout the lineup.

Additional goals came from Zach Szuba (two), Roman DeAngelis (one), Declan McMahon (one), Luke Bridges (one), and Jake Wright (one), as Carroll scored 16 goals from nine different players.

At the faceoff X, Jake Wright was dominant, winning 17 of 21 draws, helping Carroll control possession throughout the game. The Pioneers also held a 59–26 advantage in shots and collected 33 ground balls.

Defensively, Carroll limited Augustana to just four goals, with Jake Gehl recording 12 saves in goal to anchor the effort.

With the win, Carroll improved to 4–10 overall and grabbed their first win in conference play to move to 1–2 in the CCIW. The Pioneers continue their spring schedule on Wednesday as they host North Central in their final home game of the regular season at 7pm.
