WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's volleyball team has been recognized for its excellence in the classroom, earning the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The award honors volleyball programs that maintained a year-long team grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

The Pioneers were among 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball programs nationwide to earn the distinction, showcasing the program's ongoing commitment to success both on the court and in the classroom. 

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs." 

The award continues a tradition of academic achievement for collegiate volleyball programs across the nation. Programs earning the honor demonstrated a year-long team GPA of at least 3.3, reflecting the dedication and discipline required to balance the demands of academics and athletics. 

Carroll's recognition highlights the commitment of its student-athletes, coaching staff, and support personnel to fostering excellence in every aspect of the student-athlete experience. The honor serves as another example of the strong academic culture throughout Carroll Athletics and the volleyball program's dedication to achievement beyond competition.
