WAUKESHA, Wis. – After 11 seasons leading the Carroll University women's basketball program, Head Coach Lindsay Schultz has stepped down from the Carroll Women's Basketball program, and accepted the head women's basketball coaching position at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Schultz leaves Carroll as one of the most successful coaches in program history. Entering the 2026-27 season, she owned a career record of 134-114 with the Pioneers, ranking second all-time in program history in victories. In addition to her coaching duties, Schultz served as Carroll's Senior Woman Administrator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Athletics.

"On behalf of Carroll Athletics, I want to thank Lindsay for the tremendous impact she has had on our women's basketball program and our department over the past 11 years," said Carroll Director of Athletics Mike Schulist. "Her dedication to our student-athletes, commitment to excellence, and leadership have helped elevate our program to new heights. While we are saddened to see her leave, we are excited for this next chapter in her career and wish her nothing but success."

Schultz inherited a program that won just one game during her first season at Carroll and methodically built it into one of the premier programs in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). The Pioneers have posted five consecutive winning seasons, their longest stretch of sustained success since a 10-year run from 2005-15. During that span, Carroll qualified for the CCIW Tournament each year while compiling an impressive 100-36 overall record.

Among Schultz's many accomplishments was guiding the Pioneers to a historic 2023-24 campaign. Carroll finished 23-5 overall, setting a new program record for victories in a season while earning a share of the program's first-ever CCIW regular season championship with a 14-2 conference mark. The Pioneers followed that achievement by capturing the CCIW Tournament title and earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament. Carroll hosted NCAA Tournament games for the first time in decades and reached as high as No. 13 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, matching the highest ranking in program history.

Under Schultz's leadership, the 2023-24 team rewrote the Carroll record book, establishing new single-season program records for points scored, scoring average, scoring margin, field goal percentage, assists, assists per game, defensive rebounds, and defensive rebounds per game. The team featured three All-CCIW selections while Olivia Rangel earned All-America and Academic All-America honors.

The success continued in 2024-25 as Carroll entered the season ranked in the D3hoops.com Preseason Top 25 for the first time in program history. The Pioneers rose as high as No. 13 nationally and recorded one of the signature victories in program history with a road win over nationally-ranked Hope College.

Most recently, Schultz led the Pioneers through one of the finest seasons the program has ever experienced in 2025-26. Carroll earned a share of the CCIW regular season championship and hosted NCAA Tournament games for the second consecutive season. The Pioneers defeated DePauw in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament before advancing to match the deepest postseason run in program history, where the program's first ever first-team All-American player, Natalie Gricius, scored 37 in the Pioneer win. 

For her work during the 2021-22 season, Schultz was recognized as the WBCA Division III Women's Private College Coach of the Year after leading Carroll to 19 victories and a trip to the CCIW Tournament Semifinals.

Prior to arriving at Carroll, Schultz built an impressive coaching résumé that included stops at Cardinal Stritch University, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, UW-Parkside, and Bradley University.
