WEST DUNDEE, Ill. – Carroll University men's golf turned in a strong showing at the Judson Invitational on Friday, finishing sixth among 23 teams at Randall Oaks Golf Club. The Pioneers combined for a team score of 301 (+17), led by a top-three individual finish from Charlie Wu.
Wu paced the Pioneers with an even-par round of 71, finishing tied for third overall in the 128-player field. Wu finished just four strokes behind individual medalist Wyatt Brown of Wheaton, who captured the individual title with a four-under 67.
Preston Powell provided Carroll's second counting score of the afternoon, carding a 76 (+5) to finish tied for 26th. Grant Naumann and Carter Morrison rounded out the Pioneers' four counting scores, each firing a 77 (+6) to finish tied for 34th.
Tyler Hoffmann completed Carroll's five-man lineup with a 79 (+8), finishing tied for 56th. The Pioneers also had two golfers compete as individuals, with Sigge Lundin and Noah Rhodes each shooting a 78 (+7) to finish tied for 46th.
Carroll will return to the course on Monday, September 14, for the first round of the Firebird Fall Classic at Ives Grove Golf Course in Sturtevant, WI. The two-day tournament will conclude on Tuesday, September 15.
