Theresa Wichser (Waukesha, Wis.) scored a team-high 21 points with six baskets from 3-point range, 3 of 3 free throws, two steals and an assist in making her collegiate debut but it wasn't enough as the Carroll University women's basketball team lost to Milwaukee School of Engineering 58-56 in a hard-fought nonconference season opener at Hotchkin Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Tied 56-56 five seconds remaining in regulation, MSOE's Jamie Spanbauer converted two pressure-packed free throws to ensure a victory.

Katie Rossetti (Wauconda, Ill.) contributed nine points and seven rebounds for Carroll, which made seven 3-pointers, 15 of 23 free throws and shot 35.4 percent from field-goal range. Freshman forward
Kayla Stefka (Johnsburg, Ill.) followed with seven points, four rebounds and three blocked shots.
