NAPERVILLE, Ill.-

The men's tennis team won the fifth place match against Millikin, taking five of the six sets. The Pioneers took a first round loss to the sixth seeded North central cardinals (5-3), but bounced back with impressive victories over Illinois Wesleyan (6-0) and the aforementioned Big Blue from Millikin.

The Pioneers were led by a couple of seniors who teamed up to win all of their doubles matches. Peter Jaeger and Matt Michael beat North Central (8-2), Illinois Wesleyan (8-4) and Millikin (8-6) to finish the tournament undefeated. 

Chayce Roecker also had a solid tournament for the Pioneers, collecting three wins out of three opportunities to finish perfect as well. He beat North Central and Illinois Wesleyan identically 6-1, 6-0 in both matches. Against Millikin, Roecker finished 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) in a thriller.

The Pioneers will look to build of their successes this year and try to continue to be a force in the ultra competitive CCIW next year.
