Gameday Preview: Pioneers Take on In-State Rival in CCIW Doubleheader

LOCATION: Carthage Softball Field, Kenosha, WI.
OPPONENT: Carthage College
CURRENT RECORD: 18-8, 6-4 CCIW

LAST MEETING: The Carroll Pioneers were swept by the Carthage Lady Reds on April 26, 2018. The Pioneers fought hard but ended up losing two close games; 2-3 and 0-2. Amanda Osterhus pitched game one and had 13 strikeouts with three hits allowed. Offensively, the Pioneers were led by Seniors, Maggie Erdman and Annika Graves who contributed seven hits and two runs throughout the contest.
 
PIONEERS TO WATCH

OFFENSE: Freshman, Sierra Grubor leads the Pioneers with an overall batting average of .438. In conference play, Grubor posts a .393 average with five stolen bases, and a .452 on base percentage.Senior, Annika Graves remains a major offensive threat at the plate hitting .514 in conference play with 18 hits in 35 plate appearances.  Junior, Rosalie Jrolf also posts an impressive .407 batting average with 11 hits, 3 doubles, and 7 RBIs in conference play.

PITCHING: Amanda Osterhus and Lexy Kemnitzer lead the Carroll Pioneer pitching staff with a combined ERA of 1.07 in conference play. They also combine for an overall record of 19-6.
