CAROL STREAM, Ill. - Carroll University (14-23, 6-15 CCIW) dropped both ends of their double-header at Wheaton College (23-12, 13-8 CCIW) by the final scores of 15-5 and 15-6.
Carroll struggled to stay out of the big inning all day versus the Thunder. Game one opened with Wheaton putting six on the board in the opening inning as they cruised to the 15-5 win.
Game two started promising for the Pioneers as they would build a 6-2 lead after three and a half innings. However, another big inning offensively for Wheaton would be turn the tables. The Thunder would put together another six run inning in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead and eventually ease to the 15-6 win.
Carroll will look to rebound as they close out the season at home versus Augustana College. Game one is scheduled for 6pm on Friday with the season wrapping up on Saturday, a double-header starting at noon.
