Elkhorn, Wis. – The Carroll University men's tennis team hosted their first "home" match of the 2020 season, playing at the Four Lakes Athletics Club in Elkhorn during the cold weather. The men dominated their opponent, sweeping Wisconsin Lutheran 9-0.
In doubles, the three pairs of Pioneers gave up four games in total to Wisconsin Lutheran's squad.

Jordan Nowell handled business winning 8-1, 8-2, and 8-1, respectively.
In singles, no player played more than two sets. Strupp did not allow his opponent to win any games, clinching the victory 6-0, 6-0. Nay and Barter only allowed one game each on their way to straight set victories. Brian Trefilek came on in singles and delivered a decisive, 6-0, 6-3 victory as well. Fay opened up the match with a 6-3 set, and finished with a nail-biting 7-5 victory.
Chris Jensen dominated his first set 6-1, and fought hard into the second set where he edged his opponent, 7-6(2).
The men will have two matches next weekend, traveling to Jackson, Ws. to play both St. Norbert and UW-Lacrosse at Pleasant Valley Tennis Club.
