Jackson, Wis. – The Carroll University men's tennis team traveled to the Pleasant Valley tennis facility Sunday to kick off their 2020 portion of their season. The men finished 1-8, shaking off some of the rust.
 
In doubles, Lucas Nay/Joseph Harrison and Brian Trefliek/Michael Rose kept things close, but were closed out 8-6 in their matches in the one and two spots. Luke Barter/Sam Fay were defeated 8-4.
 
In singles, Harrison recorded the only victory for the Pios. Harrison started with a 6-0 sweep, and finished with a thrilling 7-6 (7-5) set to win the match. Trefliek fell in a thriller in the number three spot. After falling 2-6 in the first set, Trefliek won the second set 6-4. Trefliek competed  all the way to 20 extra set points, but dropped the set 11-9. Nay, Barter, Rose, and Fay all fell in two sets.
 
The men get back on the road this Saturday to take on Lake Forest, at RC of Lake Bluff tennis facility.
