Harland, Wis. – The Carroll University men's tennis team began their 2020-21 season indoors against Wisconsin Lutheran College. The men came away victorious in their first match since last March, by a score of 6-3.
In doubles, the
Lucas Nay and
Brian Trefliek combined for a dominant 8-1 win.
Luke Barter and
Ryan Strupp faced a tougher match up but managed to pull away and take the 8-2 victory.
Michael Rose and
Chris Jensen took care of business and defeated the third pairing 8-3.
In singles, Both Nay and Trefliek took care of their matchups in straight sets (6-0, 6-0). Barter had to play a little longer, but came away with the win 6-4, 6-3. Rose (L, 1-6, 4-6), Strupp (L, 4-6, 2-6), and Jensen (L, 2-6, 2-6) all fought hard, but were defeated in their singles matchups.
The men will have a quick turnaround and face the Falcons of Concordia-Wisconsin Sunday afternoon.
