Elkhorn, Wis. -- The Carroll University men's tennis team fell two matches to seven against the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons on Sunday afternoon. The men now sit at 1-1 to start the 2021 season.
In doubles,
Lucas Nay and Brian Trefilek fell to the number one seeded Concordia double team, 4-8.
Luke Barter and
Ryan Strupp sat in the number two spot, and they saw a similar outcome, losing 4-8.
Jordan Nowell and
Chris Jensen could not handle their opponents either, trailing 3-8.
In singles, Nay moved to 2-0 in the number one spot, wining 6-1, 6-2. Strupp fell in the firs set 3-6, but came back in set two with a 6-2 decesion. The tie breaker went to 10-8 in favor of Strupp. Trefilek (2-6, 2-6), Nowell (2-6, 1-6), and Jensen (2-6, 3-6) all fell in two sets.
The men will get to see Wisconsin Lutheran on March 5, for their second matchup this season. Carroll defeated the Warriors 6-3 on Saturday, Feb. 27.
