New Berlin, Wis. – The Carroll University men's tennis team fought hard against the Elmhurst Bluejay men's tennis squad, but suffered defeat, 2-7.
 
In doubles, Ryan Strupp and Chris Jensen picked up a tough win by a score of 8-6 against Elmhurst's number 2 and 6. Luke Barter and Michael Rose were on the opposite of a close match, falling 5-8. Lucas Nay and Brian Trefilek fell by a score of 2-8.
 
In singles, Nay continued to stay hot and tallied a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win. Barter won his first set 6-2, but couldn't keep momentum and dropped the next two frames 2-6, 2-6. Jensen as well split the first two sets with his opponent and fell in the tie breaker (6) 0-1. Trefilek (3-6, 2-6), Rose (1-6, 0-6), and Strupp (0-6, 1-6) fell in straight sets.
 
The men's team gets a full two weeks off before its next CCIW contest on April 10 against Millikin.
