Waukesha, Wis. – The Carroll University softball game's next game will come on Saturday, April 8 in Decatur, Illinois, at the site of the CCIW Softball Tournament. This will be Carroll's second game in the tournament, and the tournament's seventh game overall.

The Pioneers (21-20, 17-15 CCIW) face the Augustana Vikings. Carroll suffered a loss in the first round of the tournament to the fifth seeded Cardinals of North Central. Carroll was shutout in the game, after giving up a grand slam in the first inning. Grace Bradley finished the game with 4.2 innings of scoreless ball. The six different Pioneers collected base hits in the game.

The Vikings enter the contest after beating Elmhurst in the 8 vs 9 match up in game one, but fell to the CCIW regular season champions in Millikin in game two. The Vikings are currently 14-26 this season, and finished 10-20 in the CCIW regular season.

Carroll won the season series with the Vikings, including a road sweep earlier this season. Allyssa Demma hit 6 for 12 with a double and an RBU against the Vikings this season. Kaylee Learman tallied five total RBI with a home run, and Lauren Harshbarger, Sierra Grubor, and Claudia Spencer all scored four times. In two appearances, Breanna Roberts tallied a 1.83 ERA against Augie, picking up a win, allowing just seven hits and two earned runs over 7.2 innings pitched.

The first pitch of game seven of the tournament will come at 1:30 PM, an adjusted time to avoid rain showers in the afternoon. The loser of this contest will be eliminated from the CCIW Tournament, while the winner will go on to play next week, Thursday, May 13, against the loser of no. 3 Carthage vs no. 2 Illinois Wesleyan.
