Carroll Holds Place, Repeats Score on Day Two

PEWAUKEE, Wis. – The Carroll University women's golf team repeated their day one scores on day two of the CCIW Women's Golf Championship on their home course of Naga-Waukee War Memorial. The Pios finished with a 381, and their total for the championships now sits at 762. Carroll held their spot on Friday, finishing their day in eighth place.
 
Caroline Kroeninger, who finished tied for second yesterday on the team led the scoring effort today for the Pios. The senior finished her round with an 87 and now sits in 31st place. Kroeninger had a good start to her round, scoring just six over on the font nine. A tough few holes set her back on the final nine, but walked into the clubhouse with a round just two strokes off her season-low.
 
Shaelynn Feuerstein, who led the team on Wednesday in scoring, had a tough outing on the back nine, and walked into the clubhouse with a 99 on the scorecard. Feuerstein was just seven over after the front. She stands tied for 35th on the overall leader board and second on the team. Ashlyn Burdick tallied the second-best Carroll score of the day, carding a 96 after 18 holes. Burdick is inside the top-40 after day two.
 
After a withdraw on day one, Gabrielle Kleist scored a 99 on her first official round of the tournament, to help the Pios maintain their spot on the leader board. Ashley Lubkeman finished strong on the back nine for a 104 score, and Isabella Massa rounded out the day with a 112.
 
The Pios will be in the first wave of groups to tee off tomorrow morning in the final round of the conference championship. The final round's live results will continue to be published on golfstat.com
