KENOSHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's swimming and diving team placed sixth in the challenging two-day Carthage College Classic (held on Friday and Saturday) at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center.
Josie Peterson, a sophomore from Jefferson, Wis., claimed prestigious individual meet titles in both the 50-yard freestyle (24.33 seconds) and 100 freestyle (53.37) to lead Carroll, which displayed the depth of its lineup by finishing with 1,068 points.
Peterson showcased her competitiveness, talent and versatility by contributing a ninth-place finish in the 200 freestyle (2:01.29), swimming the opening leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay (also consisting of Halle Peterson, Anina Lee and Kara Loy), swimming the first leg of the fifth-place 400 freestyle relay and anchoring both the ninth-place 400 medley relay and 11th-place 200 medley relay. 
Carroll delivered a strong second-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (comprised of Morgan Toupal, Chopper Ceshker, Madeline McVey and Brooke Wills).
Kailee Sitter took seventh in the 400 individual medley (4:57.96) and Kayla James was eighth in 1-meter diving (220.71) to round out the list of memorable top-10 performances for the Pioneers, who came into the competition riding the momentum of three consecutive dual-meet victories.
