WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's bowling team have punched their ticket as one of four teams to qualify for the 2022 CCIW Women's Bowling Tournament. The Pioneers finished the two CCIW regular season competitions with an overall record of 10-6 to tie for third place in the CCIW.
The Pioneers finished the second weekend of the CCIW regular season competition with a 3-4 record, in addition, Carroll earned a victory in a non-contest forfeit from IWU. The Pioneers started Saturday with wins over Elmhurst and North Central.
Emma Pfaffl threw a season-high 237 against Elmhurst, while
Gabrielle Soll had her season best 229 against the Bluejays as well. Soll stayed hot against North Central, throwing a 224 to lead the group.
On Sunday, Carroll faced tough competition in the eventual CCIW regular season champions, with losses to Marian and Aurora. The Pioneers bounced back and clinched their spot in the tournament with a win over Lakeland by a score of 828-556. Pfaffl provided the high round of 193 in the victory.
Aurora, Marian, Carthage, and Carroll will move onto a four-team, NCAA mega-match format tournament held March 26-27 at Mardi Gras in DeKalb, Illinois. The winner of the two-day event will be declared the 2022 CCIW Tournament Champion.
