WAUKESHA, Wis.
– The Carroll University football begins the 2022 CCIW portion of their schedule on Saturday, September 17 at 6 PM against North Park University. Here are the facts you need to know.

GAME DETAILS: Carroll takes the field on Saturday at 6 PM. The Pios new pre-game ritual of walking through campus pre-game will begin at 2:30 PM. Fans can line up as a tunnel around the Pioneers through main lawn, and through the tailgate parking lot out to the field. Gates will open for fans at 5 PM Central. Tickets for the game can be purchased at $5 for adults, $3 for seniors 62 or older, and children 15 and under. Fans who wish to watch from home can do so via live statistics from gopios.com/football, and a live video stream on the Pioneer Sports Network at gopios.com/psn.

UNDER THE LIGHTS: The Pioneers will make their first appearance at Schneider Stadium this season with a night contest. This marks the first night game played at Schneider Stadium for the Pioneers since the 2017 season when Carroll fell to Lakeland University 29-43. The Pioneers will use the bright lights to debut their new 'Innovation Gray' uniforms before a packed home crowd.

PREVIEWING THE VIKINGS: Saturday marks the 44th meeting of the two programs, dating back to the first contest back in 1960. The Pioneers are 32-11 against the Vikings and have won four of the last five meetings. In Carroll's four wins over the past five years, the offense has scored over 21 points per game, including 34 a season ago.  Carroll's largest win over the Vikings dates back to 1976 when The Pios took down the Vikings 70-0.
North Park is entering this game with an 0-1, after falling to Manchester on September 3. The Vikings scored early on a pick-six, but the offense failed to put any more points on the board until the fourth quarter already down 16-7. Manchester took an interception 55 yards to the house with 3:27 remaining to put the Vikings out of reach. Tritian Zornes led the Vikings' running game with 92 yards on the ground with an average of 4.8 yards per carry.

WEEKLY PIONEER HONORS: Quarterback Josh Raby had himself an opening week to remember. In the Junior's first-ever game under center, Raby led the offense completing 21-27 passes for 264 yards and 5 touchdowns. Raby connected with seven different receivers while four different Pioneer pass catches caught touchdowns. Raby was named the team's offensive player of the week, Carroll University's Pioneer Athlete of the Week, and the CCIW Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after the Pios' 54-7 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College.
Defensive Lineman Jordan Pfeiffer was selected as the team's defensive player of the week in his first collegiate game. Pfeiffer recorded two solo tackles, including a tackle for loss that resulted in a loss of six yards. Pfeiffer's two tackles came back-to-back to help force a 3rd and 12 for the Warriors before the end of the first half. The defensive line held the Warriors to just 45 yards rushing during the game.
Defensive Back Donny Parker was chosen as the team's special teams player of the week. The Junior corner registered two tackles and forced the only turnover of the game, with an interception in the first half. Parker is involved in first-team punt-block and kickoff units and was involved in every special team play. The Pios recorded nine kickoffs for 537 yards and forced the Warriors to punt five times.

PICK YOUR WIDEOUT POISON: The receiving corps of the Pioneers' program is not one to take lightly. In last week's win over WLC, six different receivers caught at least three passes, while four of them caught touchdowns. Titan Kilgore, J.R Muth, Austin Eichstaedt, and Reed Breckheimer all had over 50 yards receiving, with three of the four catching touchdown passes. Keon Miller caught four passes for an even 40 yards and two touchdowns. Eichstaedt and Miller were named all-conference and all-region recipients a season ago.

FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME: The Pios saw records fall and new bars set for significant events that happened last weekend against WLC. Carroll broke the school record for first downs with 34. 16 were picked up on the ground, 15 through the air, and three via penalty. Carroll recorded over 25 first downs for the first time since 2018 when they beat Elmhurst 16-14 with 27 first downs. Carroll's record of 33 first downs was set in 2012 against Knox.
Raby's five touchdown performance was the most in a game since October 8, 2016, when Kyle Burlingame threw five touchdowns in a 34-45 loss to Elmhurst. Raby wasn't the only Pioneer to throw a TD pass against the Warriors. With Tyler McClain's touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to Andrew Lopez, Carroll tied the record for most team touchdown passes in a game with six. The record was set in 2010 by Chris Casper vs Grinnell College on November 6.
