WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll University Tight End Reed Breckheimer will look to continue his football career past his time at Carroll, earning an invite to the Miami Dolphins' Rookie Minicamp.
Breckheimer's senior year helped propel him to this opportunity, being named a Division 3 first team All-American by the Associated Press, AFCA, and D3Football.com. The Hilbert, Wis. native finished the season with 716 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns, and was a cornerstone and indispensable piece of the Pioneer offense.
Rookie minicamps serve as an important on-field evaluation for NFL teams, typically inviting Undrafted Free-Agents to the event along with their players that were drafted in the NFL Draft. Breckheimer will have the opportunity to compete and learn in front of Miami Dolphins coaches to earn a spot in the next period of the offseason, Organized Team Activities (OTAs). Breckheimer is just one of four Division III football players to earn the opportunity this year thus far, showcasing the magnitude of this accomplishment.Â
Breckheimer becomes the first Carroll football player to earn an NFL rookie minicamp invitation during Mike Budziszewski's tenure, a milestone that reflects both his individual excellence and the continued growth of the Pioneer program.
