JANESVILLE, Wis. –
Evan Bridges of the Carroll University men's golf team shot a personal-best round of 71 at the Edgewood Culver's Invitational this weekend. The tournament was shortened to just one round after the weather canceled the event on day two midway through the second round. The Pioneers tied for 12
th place with a combined 18-hole round of 322.
Bridges ties his personal best from a season ago in his first round of the season. Bridges' even score came from the help of four brides, two on the front nine and two on the back. This is Bridges' first win in his college career. His round of 71 ties for the 7
th lowest round in Carroll men's golf history.
Following Bridges was newcomer
TJ Walton with a round of 79. Walton, a freshman from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, finished with one birdie through 18 holes. The Pio shot +4 on both the front nine and the back nine. Walton finished tied for 37
th.
Devin Wilde and
Cameron Zeinert tied for 85
th with two rounds of 86. Wilde shot +3 on the front nine, and Zeinert shot +6 over on the back.
Cade Gumieny wrapped up the Pioneers team with an 87.
The Pios will hit the links next Friday and Saturday down in West Dundee, Ill. For the Carthage Fall Classic.
