LAKE GENEVA, Wis. - Pioneer Men's Golf closed out their fall season with a 15th place finish at The Grand Intercollegiate tournament in a field of 20 teams.
The depth of the field showed, with nine players finishing at par or below and nine teams having a day of single digit over par or better team scores. Dubuque ultimately took the crown with a two day total of +4 at the challenging Grand Geneva Course.Â
For Carroll, they finished with a two day total of +53. After a +31 team score on Sunday, the Pioneers responded with a +22 on Monday, a nine shot improvement which helped them rise in the ranking from day one to day two.Â
Ultimately, there were six rounds in the seventies over the two days for Carroll, led by
Carter Morrison who fired 75 and 73, respectively. His rounds were good enough for a 26th place finish in a very competitive field.Â
Followed by Morrison were
Grant Naumann and Widar Burman Voss who both finished at +15 over the two day tournament.
Ben Book and
Noah Rhodes rounded out the Pioneers team, with scores of +17 and +23, respectively.Â
Carroll also had two individuals competing,
Fernando Cirajas and
Jonah Keck. Cirajas had a solid finish and fired +16 over the two days while Keck finished at +35.
This tournament concludes the fall season for the Pios, which saw the team have some very quality performances, highlighted by their win at the Judson Invite. The Pioneers will look to build on their fall season as they prepare for the spring season ahead.Â
