MUNDELEIN, Ill. - The Carroll University men's golf team finished tied for 12th out of 19 teams following two rounds of competition, posting a team total of +36 at Countryside GC over the two day event.
Carroll opened the event with a first round score of +17, and followed that with a +19 in round two, showcasing the consistency across the lineup.
Individually, Grant Naumann led the Pioneers with +8, shooting 76 each day which was good enough for 46th place. Following close behind were Mathias Werring and Sigge Lundin, each finishing with a two-round total of 153 (+9). Werring carded rounds of 75 (+3) and 78 (+6), while Lundin posted matching scores of 75 (+3) and 78 (+6).
Carter Morrison posted rounds of 81 (+9) and 75 (+3) to finish at 156 (+12), and Widar Burman Voss rounded out the Pioneers lineup by posting scores of 79 (+7) and 87 (+15) for a two-round total of 166 (+22).
As a team, Carroll showed solid play across both days, remaining competitive throughout a deep field while gaining valuable experience during the spring portion of the schedule.
The Pioneers will look to build on the performance as postseason play approaches, with their next match coming against St. Norbert for the yearly Hatchet Match on Tuesday.
