PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. - The Carroll University women's swimming and diving team finished in sole possession of fifth place on the final day of competition at the prestigious seven-team 72nd annual College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin Championships at the RecPlex Aquatic Center on Saturday.
It was a successful three-day effort for Carroll, which generated 318 points to improve on last year's sixth-place conference finish. 
Josie Peterson, a sophomore standout from Jefferson, Wis., placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (53.17) to earn all-conference honors for the second time in the meet and fourth time in her memorable collegiate career.
It was a statement-making performance for Peterson, who improved on her second-seeded time (53.37) by a .20 margin.
She also swam the opening leg of the fourth-place 400 freestyle relay (also consisting of seniors Halle Peterson, Anina Lee and Kara Loy).
Other individuals finishing in the top 20 for the Pioneers were: Kailee Sitter, seventh in 200 butterfly (2:20.58); Halle Peterson, eighth in 100 freestyle (56.24); Chopper Ceshker, 10th in 1,650 freestyle (19:13.51), Anina Lee, 10th in 100 freestyle (56.28); Kara Loy, 13th in 100 freestyle (56.98); Nicole Johnson, 15th in 200 butterfly (2:32.72); Kaiya Kolberg, 19th in 1,650 freestyle (20:46.98); As(21:00.32); Ashley Heetland, 20th in 1,650 freestyle (25:43.96).
