Normal, Ill. – The Carroll University men's golf team kicked off their spring portion of their 2022-23 schedule at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational hosted at Weibring golf course and Ironwood golf course over the weekend. The Pioneers finished in 37
th place with a two-day score of 681, after shooting 348 on day one.
TJ Walton finished with two sub-80 rounds to finish in 59th place with a 154 in 36 holes. Walton started the tournament off strong shooting a 75, where the senior finished with two double bogeys but three birdies. In the final round Walton finished with one birdie, three double bogeys, and one bogey.
Evan Bridges finished second in the group and finished T-146 with a 162. Bridges second round of 83 counted match his sub 80 first round of 79. Bridges was able to make two birdies during the final round.
Drew Esveldt rebounded from a challenging day one round of 93, finishing with an 89 on the final 18 holes to finish in 182.
Devin Wilde finished just five strokes behind Esveldt with a 187 and finished in 208
th. Wilde started the weekend shooting a 90 but struggled on the second day scoring a 97.
Cameron Zeinert went in as the no. 4 golfer for the Pioneers and finished 209
th with a 188.
Eli Allison entered the tournament as an individual. Allison finished with a 95 on day two to put him in 211
th place with a 196.
