The 2022-23 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Awards were announced Wednesday, with Carroll University earning the distinction for the eighth consecutive season. The Pioneers are one of six teams from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) to earn the honor.

"I am very proud of our program for achieving this award once again," Head Baseball Coach Stein Rear said. "We take great pride in the work we do in the classroom, as well as on the diamond. This award is a reflection of the pride our players take in their daily quest to be excellent."
 
Teams from every level of college and high school baseball were honored with this year's award, which highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2022-23 academic year. More than 450 collegiate programs were recognized with this year's award.
