WESTMONT, Ill. - The Carroll University women's bowling team took to the lanes for the first time in 2024, placing third at the two-day, five-team D-III Invitational (hosted by Elmhurst University) at Suburbanite Bowl over the weekend.
Carroll finished with a 2-2 record in the traditional-format competition and amassed a total 3,138 pins, averaging 156.9 per game.
The Pioneers' two victories came against Elmhurst (860-837) and Dominican (820-609).
Ava Butt, a freshman from Wautoma, Wis., finished fourth with a four-game combined series of 686 to earn all-tournament team honors, averaging a team-best 171.5 per game.
Butt bowled an individual high 194 in an opening-round loss to Aurora.
Hope Minett, a sophomore from La Crosse, Wis., followed in sixth with a 671, averaging 167.75 with a high of 200 in the final-round victory over Dominican.
Hannah Bartlett, a sophomore from Aurora, Ill., was eighth with a 645 to round out the top individuals for the Pioneers, averaging 161.25 with a high of 196 in a third-round victory over Elmhurst.
