Carroll Concludes 2024 Season at NCAA North Regional

NORTHFIELD, Minn. - Carroll's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA North Regional Championships Saturday morning, hosted by Carleton College. The men placed 24th overall out of 31 teams, with the women securing a 20th-place finish in a 31-team field of runners on a challenging course. 
 
The Pio men scored 675 points in the meet, which was just 23 points shy of the next team in Wisconsin-Superior. Ethan Weber led Carroll with an 8K time of 26:26.6, crossing the line in 89th place overall in the field of 220 runners. Austin Sanderfoot was the next Pioneer to complete the race, finishing with a time of 26:47.4, while Charles Quast finished in 27:43.5. Jullian Bica Harrison and Bailey Olson rounded out the top-five scorers Pioneer runners with times of 28:46.2 and 20:01.9, respectively. Completing the top seven runners for Carroll were Donavon Menningen and Rogan Leistiko, who finished with times of 29:17.5 and 29:49.4, respectively. 
 
On the women's side, the Pioneers finished with 507 points, 43 shy of Ripon's next best total. Keagan Knue was the first Pioneer to cross the finish line, placing 69th overall with a time of 23:51.5. Finishing close behind was junior Rebekah Buboltz. Buboltz finished less than six seconds later, running a time of 23:57.9. The next three runners to score points for the team finished beginning in 106th place, as Hana Smith, Anika Tollerud, and Grace Tinder all finished within 50 seconds of each other. Rounding out the top-seven for the women's 6K were Sarah Tinder and Natalie Parent, who were timed at 26:25.1 and 26:58.5, respectively 
 

The Pioneers close the 2024 season with two all-conference performers on the women's side returning and a promising young core returning for the men's team. The two squads will kick their feet up before they gear up for the 2024-25 track season as the first indoor track meet will be in less than one month for these runners.
