NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carroll's women's tennis team was one of seven teams in the nine-team College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) to earn a spot on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Women's All-Academic Team recently. As part of the awards announcement, the Pioneers also received 10 individual ITA Women's Scholar-Athlete honors, which is the third-most of any CCIW team.

Earning a spot on the ITA Women's Scholar-Athlete team are seniors Kaitlin Brandl, Maya Gaedtke, Madison Ostrander, and Rachel Papp, junior Sophia Dekker, sophomores Makayla Counsell, Erin Horzewski, and Jenna Mohler, and freshmen Katherine Trifilio and Rachel Winters. Carroll's 10 players were a part of 54 CCIW women's tennis players to be recognized with this honor.

A total of 167 Division-III teams were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction. Programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale) to earn a spot on the list. All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
 
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year. Nearly 1,300 Division III student-athletes received the distinction this season.
