GREEN BAY, Wis. - This weekend the Carroll University men's and women's cross country teams kicked off their season by traveling north to compete in the annual Tom Barry Invitational, hosted by St. Norbert College. The Pios scored 212 points to claim ninth place in the men's 6k race while the women take eighth place in the 5k race with 188 points.
For the men's team, Charlie Quast led the team in 33rd place in 20:51.77. Not far behind, Ethan Weber took 37th place in 20:56.69. Cameran Lotspeich came in 53rd place with a time of 21:26.98.
Julian Bica Harrison placed 67th with a time of 22:03.19, and Donovan Mennington placed 77th with a time of 22:29.32 as the final point scorer.
Other Pios to race were Partick Signore (23:24.10) and Bailey Olson (23:39.89).
Rebekah Buboltz led the women in 26th place with a time of 20:55.07. Keagan Knue was close behind taking 28th place in 21:01.63. Anika Tollerud finished in 50th place with a time of 22:04.57.
Hana Smith placed in 57th with a time of 22:21.00 and Ailee Hogan claimed 67th place in 22:48.30 as the final point scorer.
Rebecca Barnes (22:50.22), Grace Tinder (22:56.88), Gabrielle Holbrook (23:07.97), Sarah Tinder (23:48.63), Mia Kim (23:59.62), Kayla Hirschmann (24:56.01), Paola Orozco (25:01.65), Claire Olson (25:31.10), Nina Yaras (23:34.12), Lucy Beuthin (25:45.40), and Lauren Hull (27:36.75) also raced this weekend for the Pios.
Carroll will be in action again n September 14 at the Ken Weidt Classic, hosted by Concordia (Wis.) in Mequon, Wis.
