at MSOE Invite
Carroll's women's golf team had a successful weekend at two local events. The Pioneers finished seond out of five teams at Friday's Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational at Dretzka Park Golf Course in Milwaukee, before placing third out of five schools in Saturday's MSOE Invite, which was held at Brown Deer Golf Course, also in Milwaukee.
On Friday, Carroll shot a team score of 336 (+48), which was 12 strokes shy of the Lake Forest's winning score.
Lynea Sekany led the Pioneers with a score of 81 (+9), which was the fourth-best individual score of the day, just four strokes shy of the top score. Sekany's 81 is also tied for the 18th-best single round score in program history.
Maddie O'Brien was second on the team, finishing tied for seventh overall with an 84 (+12).
Tessa Lawson finished just one stroke behind that, in 11th place, while
Lauren Lostetter shot an 86, which was good for 14th place.
Leah Ribordy rounded out the Pios' team score with a 91 (+19).
Carroll followed that up with Saturday's third-place round in the MSOE Invite.
Tessa Lawson claimed the team's top spot in that meet, shooting an 87 (+15). O'Brien was just three strokes behind Lawson, in seventh place. Ribordy added a score of 96 (+24), while Lostetter and Sekany finished with scores of 98 and 102.
The Pioneers will be in action again on Tuesday when they'll take part in the Benedictine (IL) Fall Invitational. That meet will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews Golf Course in West Chicago, Ill.
