WOMEN'S RESULTS
MEQUON, Wis. - Carroll's men's and women's cross country teams each finished in fifth place Saturday afternoon at the Ken Weidt Classic, hosted by Concordia (Wis.). There were 13 competing teams on the men's side, while 14 teams competed in the women's race.
The Pio men scored 156 points in the meet, which was just seven shy of the fourth-best score. Charlie Quast led Carroll with an 8K time of 26:54.5, which was good for 29th place among all individuals.
Ethan Weber was second on the team, in 40th place, with a time of 27:26.3, while
Cameron Lotspeich was 57th with a time of 28:53.1.
Julian Bica Harrison and Donovan Mennigan rounded out the team score with times of 29:23.2 and 30:26.6, respectively.
On the women's side, the Pioneers finished with 130 points, just one shy of Carthage's fourth-place total. Carroll had strong performances from the top of their lineup, with
Keagan Knue finishing 13th overall and
Rebekah Buboltz placing 15th, with times of 24:06.9 and 24:25.3, respectively. The other three runners to score points for the team finished consecutively, beginning in 55th place, as
Hana Smith, Anika Tollerud, and
Brooke Davies all finished within two seconds of each other.
The Pioneers will be in action again next weekend when they'll compete at the annual Gil Dodds Invite, hosted by Wheaton (IL) College. That meet will take place at St. James Farm in Wheaton, Ill. Saturday at 10 a.m.
