Pioneers Have Strong Showing at Benedictine Fall Invitational

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. - Carroll's women's golf team had a strong showing Tuesday, finishing fifth in the 16-team field at the Benedictine Fall Invitational on a beautiful day at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West, Chicago, IL. The Pioneers shot a single round score of 337 (+53), which was 25 shy of Aurora's A squad winning score, while finishing 4 strokes better than seventh place Aurora (B).

All golfers placed in the top-50 in a field of 85 golfers in the event. Leading the way for the Pios was Maddie O'Brien, who finished tied-seventh overall in the event with a score of 78 (+7). Lynea Sekany added a finish tied for 22nd with a score of 84 (+13). Tessa Lawson wasn't far behind, finishing one stroke behind Sekany. Leah Ribordy and Lauren Lostetter rounded out the Pios' team score with a T-43rd and 50th place finish, respectively. Ribordy shot an 89 (+18) while Lostetter was next in line with a 90 (+19). 

Carroll will be in action again this weekend as they compete in the two-day Midwest Region Classic hoste by UW-Whitewater. Action begins on Friday morning at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wis.
