WOMEN'S RESULTS
WHEATON, Ill. - Carroll's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Gil Dodds Invite Saturday morning, hosted by Wheaton College (Ill.),. There were 18 competing teams on the men's side, while 19 teams competed in the women's race. The men placed 11th overall, with the women securing a seventh place finish in a strong outing.
The Pio men scored 312 points in the meet, which was just 24 shy of the tenth-place Elmhurst.
Charles Quast led Carroll with an 8K time of 26:40.1, which was good for 41st place among 299 runners.
Ethan Weber was second on the team, in 50th place, with a time of 26:57.9, while
Cameron Lotspeich was 104thth with a time of 27:49.8.
Julian Bica Harrison and
Bailey Olson rounded out the top-five Pioneer runners with times of 28:49.8 and 29:22.9, respectively. Completing the top seven scorers for Carroll were freshman
Donovan Menningen and
Patrick Signore, who finished with times of 29:27.2 and 29:59.5, respectively.
On the women's side, the Pioneers finished with 201 points, just seven shy of Carthage's sixth-place total. Carroll had strong performances from the top of their lineup, with
Keagan Knue finishing 10th overall and
Rebekah Buboltz placing 22nd, with times of 23:05.8 and 23:49.1, respectively. The next three runners to score points for the team finished beginning in 53rd place, as
Hana Smith, Anika Tollerud, and
Grace Tinder all finished within thirty seconds of each other. Rounding out the top-seven for the women's 6K were
Rebecca Barnes and
Brooke Davies, who were timed at 25:50.3 and 26:05.0, respectively.
The Pioneers get a week off before they will be in action again on October 5, where they'll compete at the annual Running of the Cows, hosted by Carleton College. That meet will take place at Bill Huyck Championship Course in Northfield, Minn., beginning at 10:30 a.m.
