Elizabeth Wang has been named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the conference office.
A Midfielder from Wildomar, Calif. Wang led the Pioneers to a 10-9 season-opening win at Lake Forest College, which was an NCAA Tournament Team last season. Wang picked up where she left off after breaking the program's single season record for goals as a freshman. Against Lake Forest, Wang recorded a hat trick by the end of the first quarter, before finishing with a game-high six goals. She also assisted on another score, giving her seven total points on the day.
The Pioneers (1-0) will travel to Marian (Wis.) on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game, before playing their home opener on Saturday at 1 p.m. from Schneider Stadium in Waukesha, Wis.
