NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The College of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) named Carroll sophomore
Natasa Pupovac as its Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.
A native of Hales Corners, Wis., Pupovac was a perfect 6-0 on the Pioneers' spring-break trip last week, including three wins at number one singles. Her performance helped the Pios collect dual wins over LeTourneau, Salve Regina and Baldwin Wallace.
Pupovac won 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 over Isa Casso of LeTourneau on Sunday, March 9. Two days later, she earned a 6-1, 6-0 triumph versus Kaydin Pinto of Salve Regina. Her final singles match of the trip came last Wednesday when she toppled BW's Olivia Koutouras in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles play, Pupovac also went 3-0. She paired with
Katherine Trifilio to win at number one doubles over Casso and and Elizabeth Moreau of LeTourneau, 6-3. That same Pio pairing defeated Salve Regina's Pinto and Stephanie Davis, 6-1. Pupovac closed the week alongside
Aalaiya Jacklin with a 6-1 victory against Saraphina Groh and Emma Trost of Baldwin Wallace, 6-1.
